Important Warning

Cities cannot be stored in a chest nor any other storage item. They must be kept in your inventory or used. If you put a city in a storage unit, you will not be able to retrieve the blueprint item from it.

Creating a city

Find the Urban Engineer (near the Architect Trainer at 0,0) and buy a city blueprint from him.
Once you have got your blueprint, find a nice spot and use the city blueprint just like you would use a house blueprint.
Be careful as once you chose a spot for your city, it cannot be moved.
The person creating the city becomes it's mayor. A mayor can use zones of the city just like they were inside their house.

Changing the name of the city

Once your city is created, target it using the tooltip menu and type the command:

/setname "city name" to change the name of your city.

Example:

/setname "Happytown"

Changing the name of a zone inside a city

To change the name of the current zone type the command:

/setzonename "zone name"

Example:

/setzonename "1,1"

Only the mayor can change the name of zone.

Cities Stats

To see the stats of a city (population, size, foundation date, ...), select "Look" from the tooltip menu appearing over it.

Creating Lots

Lots are spots that you rent to citizens so they can drop their house or mechants in your city. Use the /createlot "lot type" [X] [Y] [price] to create a lot.
This is the list of available lots types:

merchant
animal
2x2 Really Small House
3x3 Small House Type 1, Small House Type 2, Small House Type 3, Pub
3x4 Big House Type 1
4x3 Medium House Type 1
5x3 Tavern
6x5 Big House Type 2

Example: Create a spot for a small house at 3,2 that cost 25 gold coins.

/createlot 3x3 3 2 25

Example: Create a spot for a merchant 8,5 that cost 10 gold coins.

/createlot merchant 8 5 10

A player only spend money once when dropping his house or merchant. If a player packup his building and drop it again at the same spot, he will have to pay the same amount as the first time.
All the money received from lots location is sent to the city.

Changing the price of a Lot

Target a lot and use the command:

/setlotprice [price]

Example:

/setlotprice 30

Deleting a Lot

Only the mayor can do so. Target the lot and type the command:

/deletelot

Withdraw money from the city

Only a mayor can withdraw money from a city. He is free to do whatever he wants with the money but his citizen will surely appreciate that he spend the money on city expansion and decoration.
To do so, target the city and type the command:

/withdraw [amount]

Example:

/withdraw 50

Expand the city

When you create a city, there is only one zone in it.
To expand the city, type the command:

/expandcity [direction (up, right, down or left)]

Example:

/expandcity right

Expanding a city cost 50 gold coins per new zone created.

Dropping a house or a merchant in a city

You can only drop a house on lots of the appropriate size.
Drop you house as usual and drop it at the exact same top left coordinate as the lot. You will then be asked to pay the fee to set your house in this city.
You only pay this fee once unless you packup your house and drop it again on the same or another lot.
The same apply to merchants.

Donating money to a city

If you want to help your mayor to expand the city or to decorate it, target the city and type the command:

/donatecity [amount]

Example:

/donatecity 20

Be careful though as the mayor may decide to do whatever he wants with the money. Do not complain that your money was used by the mayor to buy himself some paintings or other stuff. Use this command carefully and only if you trust your mayor. All complaints about the use of this money will be ignored: SO BE CAREFUL.

City Stages

Depending on the size and population of a city, the appearance of the city will change a bit. There are 5 stages that are shown here.

Can a mayor delete a city?

No.

Can a mayor delete/remove my house or merchant?

No.

Can a city be moved?

No.

Can we change mayor?

No. This is not a democracy. If you don't like your city/mayor, find another one or start your own.

Moving roads (Props)

Roads cannot be targeted with the mouse to prevent awkward behaviours when walking around. However, there is a way around.
A mayor can use the /listprops command to see every item in the current zone.
To target a road, find the ID of the road you wish to take back type the command:

/target [id]

Example:

/target 2543

Once you have the road targeted, just use the command /take to move the road back to your inventory.
This is currently the only way to deal with this.

Can a mayor decorate the city?

Yes. Just talk to the Urban Engineer Merchant at 0,0 and buy some items from it.
Only mayors can decorate and plant trees in their own city.

I'm a mayor and I want to take a tree back to put it somewhere else.

Click on it to target it (you can click on pretty much everything to target it) and use the /take command.

Can we cut the trees inside a city?

Yes. They will grow back just like normal trees. However, don't expect good quality from them. I might add something later to improve trees inside cities.

City dungeon

Dropping stairs in a city zone will create a city dungeon. As mayor you can treat it as you would your city; create lots inside to drop houses or lots for merchants and quests, add trees and lakes, etc.

I want more things to put in my city.

Me too. It requires time and artist work so be patient. If you have any suggestions, let me know. If you are an artist and would like to participate, contact Over00 on the forum by PM. You will receive full credit for you work. If you require to be paid for your work, let me know your rate though remember that I already have my list of artist I'm working with. This is an indie project so I can't afford expensive fees.
